Alex Ramsey is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker whose work blends vérité intimacy with cinematic design. His background as a sound-design-obsessed editor gave him a sharp sense of rhythm and story that now shapes how he directs.

His films have been featured on Vimeo Staff Picks, Nowness, Documentary+, Director’s Notes, the 1.4 Awards, the Berlin Commercial Awards shortlist, at the Oscar-qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival, Bend Film Festival, and more. His feature documentary, Tiler Peck: Suspending Time, premiered on PBS in 2025 after six years of filming, tracing the New York City Ballet star through injury, comeback, and reinvention as a choreographer. The film went on to earn him an Emmy nomination.

He is always chasing the balance between authenticity and cinematic precision, the moments that feel like life falling perfectly into rhythm. A lifelong drummer, he finds that same timing in the edit bay, shaping sequences until they sing. Away from set, he is an economics junkie and a builder at heart, having grown his own media companies alongside his film work.
